Data obtained from the TBM advance during tunnel construction are of pivotal importance for con-trolling and optimizing the TBM drive. Most electro-hydraulic systems within the TBM can be continuously monitored using transducers. The same is true for other surveying data which, for example, monitor the surrounding rock or soil.
Additionally there is information of the operating crew, i.e. standing time, maintenance periods, etc. Engineering geologists provide further data about the rock and soil condition near the tunnel face.
All this information can be correlated to each other. This requires an information and communica-tion tool which collects all these data from different sources.
The process management system HYDRA is built on a powerful MySQL database combined with an state-of-the-art interactive Web2.0 interface. Developed by Technical Headquarter, Department of Tunnelling Design, it is specifically designed for analysing tunnelling processes. It generates construction progress reports and protocols from the collected data and also provides real-time in-formation about the TBM drive.
The development of HYDRA is carried out in close collaboration with the operational tunnelling divisions of Strabag AG and Ed. Züblin AG.
The current version offers:
HYDRA brings together teams from construction sites, estimation and technical design offices. The data exchange can be carried out locally on construction sites or globally via internet.
